Solution 1 ~Take Princess Bus~

Princess Bus leaves at Hachijoguchi Exit which is the south gate of Kyoto JR station. And the last stop is the entrance of Kyoto Women’s University. It is only 500 meter, 10 minutes walk from this last stop to our guesthouse. It is downhill all the way, so it is easy even if you have a suitcase. It is called “Princess Bus”, but everyone regardless of age or gender can take the bus. The bus is normally quite empty, but it can be crowded during the morning commuting time. Please be noted that they only accept cash, no prepaid transportation cards available. And also very few bus on the holidays.

Where to get on? The exact point for getting on the bus is here. There are many other bus stops in this area, so please be careful not to get on the wrong bus. “Princess Bus” is a red colored bus.  

When the bus leaves? Bus leaves frequently during the weekdays and Saturdays. It is better to check the updated time table on their official site. Please check the time table which is leaving from the Kyoto station 【京都駅八条口⇒京都女子大学前】

How to find guesthouse after the bus? After getting off the bus at the last bus stop, please take this route to come to our guesthouse. If you take another route, there is a long staircase and you can not carry your suitcase down.

Please do not come this route with staircase.

Solution 2 ~Use Carry Service~

This is recommended if you are a solo traveller and if you have one luggage.

“Crosta Kyoto” at the Kyoto JR station provides this service. You can leave your luggage at their service counter and you can explore the city freely without your luggage. They will send luggage to accomodations, so you will get your luggage when you check in at our guesthouse in the evening. You can check your luggage in between 8 am to 2 pm and your luggage will be sent after 5 pm to the accommodation.

It cost 1500 yen per item. This is not a cheap option, but it helps you to maximize your time for sightseeing in Kyoto. If you have more than two items, it is clever to bring your luggage by yourself by taxi. The taxi fare is about 1500 yen.
